Catalogue Number: TS102
Price: $30 (excluding GST), $33 (including GST)
A general purpose temperature probe sealed in a stainless steel tube; It is very robust and has excellent resistance to chemical attack.

It has a temperature range of -20 to 110 degrees (celsius).

Note: for older model interfaces (TCS2, TecMini, TecMicro) the range is -3 to 110 degrees (celsius).

Miniature thermistors respond very quickly to temperature changes (less than 1 second). With a diameter of only 1.5mm, they can fit inside bicycle pumps, sense surface temperatures and explore evaporative cooling.

Three types of miniature thermistor are available:
Skin and body temperature sensor TS103. Range: 20 to 40 °C.
Wide range temperature sensor TS104. Range: -10 to 110 °C.
Mini Temperature Probe TS109. Range: 10 to 70°C.

The Wide Range Temperature Sensor is preferred because it has a wider operating range and may be used in more experiments.

New customers should purchase the Wide Range Temperature Sensor (TS104).

If you are already using either Skin and Body Temperature Thermistors (TS 103) or Mini Temperature Probes (10 to 70°C) - TS109 there is no need to change.

Skin & Body Temperature sensors should be used for body measurements with the TecTrio interface. The Wide Range Temperature sensor is not sensitive enough when used with the TecTrio.

The miniature thermistor type you are using can be selected in the WinTec and Psychology software.

At the Quick Start menu, check that the probe type shown in the Quick Start equipment list matches your sensors. There are two settings in the Quick Start menu under Options. "Type of Miniature thermistor" and "Replace Skin and Body Temperature sensor with...".

If you are using Wide Range Temperature" sensors, then check that "Use Wide Range Thermistor (-10 to 110°C)" is selected under "Type of miniature thermistor".

If your school is using Mini Temperature Probes, then check that "Use Mini Temperature Probe (10 to 70°C)" is selected.

If you do not have "Skin & Body Temperature" but the experiment shows Skin & Body in the equipment list, go to the Quick Start Options menu, place a tick next to "Replace Skin and Body with Wide Range Thermistor ". If you have selected the option to Use Mini Temperature Probe, then the menu option will show "Replace Skin and Body Temperature sensor with Mini Temperature Probe".

You only need to make this selection once. The program will remember your selection of miniature thermistor type and whether you have opted to replace the Skin and Body Temperature sensor.

Catalogue Number: TS103*
Price: $20 (excluding GST), $22 (including GST)
Miniature thermistors respond very quickly to temperature changes (less than 1 second). With a diameter of only 1.5 mm, they can be used in inaccessible places, to sense surface temperatures and explore evaporative cooling.

Temperature range of 20 to 40 degrees (celsius)
Accuracy - within 0.3°C

*New customers should purchase the Wide range temperature sensor (TS104) rather than the Skin and Body Temperature Thermistor (TS 103).

Catalogue Number: TS104*
Price: $20 (excluding GST), $22 (including GST)
Miniature thermistors respond very quickly to temperature changes (less than 1 second). With a diameter of only 1.5 mm, they can be used in inaccessible places, to sense surface temperatures, explore evaporative cooling and can even be used as infra-red detectors. They are waterproof, so can be used both in air and in liquids.

Temperature range of -10 to 110 degrees (celsius).

*New customers should purchase the Miniature Thermistor - Wide Range rather than the Skin and Body Temperature Thermistor (TS 103).

Catalogue Number: TS105
Price: $16 (excluding GST), $17.6 (including GST)
Thermocouples are popular in industry for extremes of temperature. No other probe can measure the temperature of a Bunsen burner flame, or the temperature at the focus of a solar collector!

The sensors consist of just two wires, so they are cheap and versatile.

The 'Type K' Thermocouple has a temperature range of 0 to 1200 degrees (celsius).

Note: requires Thermocouple Adaptor    TS107.

Catalogue Number: TS107
Price: $60 (excluding GST), $66 (including GST)
Required for type K thermocouples (TS104). May also be used for type T thermocouples.

Catalogue Number: CB107
Price: $75 (excluding GST), $82.5 (including GST)
Detects breathing using a Skin Temperature Thermistor attached to a facemask.
Includes a Skin and Body Temperature Thermistor and instructions for preparing disposable dust masks to support the temperature thermistor.

Catalogue Number: TS108
Price: $55 (excluding GST), $60.5 (including GST)
A Wide Range Thermistor is fitted inside the pump to monitor changes in temperature with compression and expansion of air. It is used in the experiments "Temperature inside a Bicycle Pump" (The Tain Collection) and "The Fridge" (B & G Scientific).
