There are three choices:

1. Tainlab USB to Serial Adaptor. Compatible with all serial Tainlab interfaces, Tainlab USB adaptors are genuine USB devices that are simple and convenient to use.

Power is provided to the Tainlab interface through the USB system so you can perform experiments with your notebook computer outside the classroom without using the "plugpack"power supply.

We produce two models. See Tainlab USB 2 High Speed Adaptor and Tainlab USB Adaptor (Low Speed).

2. Any "computer shop" brand - prices vary widely - some work, some don't (and product support may be limited).

3. A "computer shop" brand that we stock - known to be reliable.

The Tainlab USB 2 High Speed adaptor provides fast data transfer necessary when using a TecMaster or Fielder interface with the Tainlab Digital CRO software. Faster data transfer is also advantageous for Sound Wave Capture experiments with the TecMaster and when retrieving stored experiment results from the Fielder interface.

USB drivers for this USB adaptor are installed automatically when you install Tainlab software on your computer.

Recommended for use with older Tainlab interfaces (TCS2, TecMini) or with any other interface if you do not need to provide power to the interface via the USB system (ie. used with the plugpack in a laboratory).

System Requirements: Windows XP or 2000. Requires driver installation (an installation CD is included with the adaptor).

Note: This USB adaptor does not provide power to the Tainlab interface.
If you wish to perform experiments with your notebook computer outside the classroom, you should consider one of the Tainlab USB adaptors - see Tainlab USB 2 High Speed Adaptor (Cat. No. US 104) or Tainlab USB Adaptor (Low Speed) (Cat. No. US 103).

There is a nominal charge for the modification (plus postage).

This modification DOES NOT apply to the Fielder because it uses an internal battery when not connected to mains power.
